KIMO – Miraflores, Liman Cuisine: Nikkei Fusion (Peruvian-Japanese)nnKimo isn't just a restaurant; it's a visual and sensorial experience from beginning to end. Located on the 17th floor of the Iberostar hotel, its design is inspired by a whale that seems to float above the sea of Lima. The architecture, the lighting, the soft music... everything is designed to envelop you from the first moment.nn Highlights:nn• Atmosphere: Sophisticated, modern, and with one of the most impressive views of the city. At night, the sea blends with the sky, creating the perfect setting for a special date or an elegant evening.n• Service: Impeccable. The service is attentive, knowledgeable, and very well coordinated.n• Cocktails: Creative and original.nn About the food:nThe Nikkei menu feels fresh, balanced, and very well thought out. I recommend starting with the Kimo ceviche, followed by some nigiri or some grilled meat!nnEverything is made with great attention to detail, although I must say that some flavors are subtle, almost minimalist, making it ideal for those who enjoy more delicate and refined experiences.nn Omakase Option:nIf you want a personalized experience, order the omakase. The chef prepares each piece freshly, and you can completely let yourself go.nn Foodie Tip:nAsk for a table near the window at sunset. It's the perfect time for memorable photos with natural light and an ocean backdrop.nn Price: High. But if you're looking for a complete, aesthetic, and well-curated experience, it's worth every sol.nn Would I go back?: Without a doubt. Kimo is the kind of place you want to share with someone special or keep as your secret space to disconnect from the noise.nn⭐ Personal rating: 4.6/5nn✨ By Yherlita Hahary Calderón, lover of elegance and fine dining.

The food and the view are spectacular. The downside is the WhatsApp service, as the person serving seems indifferent and provides ambiguous information or sometimes doesn't even respond to questions.

The chefs made vegan sushi to order by special request. Edamame and mushrooms are not usually eaten by our 11 yr old. She loved them! Carlitos (our server) was exceptional and communicated with the chefs to keep each dish unique. Everything was perfect!

When I found out I was no longer allergic to fish—something I’d believed my whole life—it felt like a door had opened. A door I had no idea I’d been locked behind. So when my girlfriend and I booked a trip to Lima that December, it was with a sense of quiet celebration. We wanted sun, great food, and the kind of fresh seafood that would mark this moment for what it was: a beginning.nnWe chose Kimo Nikkei, located inside the Iberostar in Miraflores, almost by instinct. We didn’t know much about it going in—just that we wanted good sushi, and this place seemed to take itself seriously. We sat at the sushi bar, and from that first moment, everything unfolded exactly as it should.nnThe service was exceptional. Our waiter, Leonardo, was the kind of professional you remember—attentive without hovering, genuinely enthusiastic, and able to read a table with surgical precision. His presence elevated the experience in a way few servers can.nnAs for the food, the two standout dishes were:n•tCeviche Maki (we ordered it twice)n•tNigiri Belly Foie – (I’ll come back to this)nnBut the nigiri belly foie is what I’ll think about for years. A strip of salmon belly, stuffed with chimichurri, topped with a slice of foie gras, torched at the table until it melts slightly into itself. It’s the kind of dish that stops the conversation. Every element played its part—rich, bright, silky, seared—perfectly composed, perfectly executed. It was one of the best single bites of food I’ve ever had in my life. We came back the next night just for that.nnWe sat at the bar and watched the chefs work, discarding any fish that didn’t meet their standards. The precision and respect for the product was palpable. Every detail, every piece, was deliberate.nnThis place could have been in a roadside shack and still would’ve been unforgettable. But set where it is, with that view, that ambiance, and service of that caliber? It’s a memory I’ll hold onto. And yes—we will fly back to Lima again, if only for another taste of that nigiri belly foie.
